The Story of the Car written by Giles Chapman is a nice little book which is full of good information about the development of cars our 8 year old and ten year old sons loves this book but for them once they read it that was it there was nothing for them Though they showed it to their friends and they did enjoy talking about it This is a book which brings the history of the motor car to a level which children will enjoy and I liked how the boys enjoyed showing it to their Grandfather as he was able to show them what cars he had in the past plus old photographs were brought out to show them the old automobiles which he drove and his own father drove when the cars had not a computer in sightIf your children love cars this is a good book which will open up the history of the automobiles The book is beautifully illustrated which even I enjoyed looking at themI would recommend this as a basis of history and one I know the boys did enjoy

We got this for our 6 year old son who loves cars and we have really enjoyed reading this together in the evenings As the title suggest the book covers the story of the car over the last 140 years and has a lot information that you first imagine when flicking through it The illustrations are superb and even though its aimed at younger readers I think its an enjoyable book for any age It's impact on my son was noted so when a few days after reading it we went to Coventry Transport Museum and he started pointing out cars saying Dad That's like the one in my car book A wonderful book and nicely presented
